Time share may be your way to save money
They have places and you do the maintenace.
Clean, make the bed. No tips and no hospitality

You could try the low cost airlines for flights:

http://www.spiritair.com
also check out this site:
http://www.kayak.com
it checks for the nest deals from the airlines + other online sites and shows you the top few.
Call the hotels direct to see if they have any specials.
Check out Bed & Breakfast places (usually cheaper than hotels).
There is also this hotel in Old San Juan that was mentioned in the NY Times “Da House” hotel – rooms are less than $100
