No, they don’t. They are more for convenience. Anything they save you, they take in as a profit. Your best bet is BookMe.com. You can compare all the reputable travel sites, and save money. Good luck!

I used to work at a travel agency and I can honestly tell you that it’s a draw on whether they can save you money or not. Most people these days do come in with something they have found online, and we almost always try to match them or even beat them if possible. If you are booking in advance, chances are you will get a cheaper deal with a travel agent, but if you are going last minute, online deals can be REALLy cheap. Sometimes we could do much better, others we couldn’t. It’s always worth checking out, because they just might be able to find you something a save you some cash. Another good reason to use a travel agent is that if anything were to ever go wrong, they work for you and will do what they can in helping to resolve whatever problem you may have. If you do it on your own online, a lot of the time it is hard to get through to even ask the question you want to ask.

A travel agent can certainly save you money but it depends.

How skilled is the travel agent? How many years of experience have they? How complex is the trip?

If it’s a simple trip between two airports you will probably be better off shopping yourself. Check sites like travelocity.com and opodo.com. Then check directly with airlines web site. This of course takes time, and time is money. So maybe it’s better to hire a travel agent.

If it’s a more complex trip, a travel agent will probably save you money and time.

At the moment it is sensible to go to a Travel Agent. If you book your trip yourself and your Airline goes bust or there are other problems then you may not have as much cover as booking through a Travel Agent. The best advice at the moment is – be cautious!

They might not necessarily save money, but they may know better alternatives for your plans and they know where to check, so it could save you time. They may also be limited in their options too, so watch out for that, as they may have to only deal with certain outside companies.

do it yourself on line with like travelzoo or priceline a travel agent will line there own pockets its for old people who can’t work a computer.. don’t get taken for a dummy ride

If they is capitalists and possibly not christians, they will try to take more money from you. If they is chrstians and socialites, then they will only provide excelence and fair costliness!
