We provide all of the best money saving tips, articles and up to the minute news so you can get the most out of your hard earned income. We scour the net to find the best places to get coupons, money saving tips and ways to reduce your debt while repairing your credit.
1. Pay it off
2. Declare Bankruptcy (Chapter 7) but this is a debt that prolly can’t be forgiven
3. Make an agreement with your ex-spouse to lower the amount owed (prolly have to come up with a big chunk to buy her off.)
4. Flee the country
Child support can not be dismissed in bankruptcy! The only way of reducing the amount owed is contacting the custodial parent and asking them to reduce or forgive the debt. If you go to court the judge will look at your present income and may lower you current payments but this will not affect any child support that is past due. If your child support get way behind the IRS and the state department of revunue will take all of your tax refunds and if that does not work you will lose your license. Then they will put you in jail and while your in jail your child support will continue. Even when the child turns 18 you will still owe any money that is past due. They only change the name from child support to rearage then. Plead your case with custodial parent and don’t get behind again. Hope this helps

You should have paid in the begining and it wouldn’t be a problem now.

Start paying it. Get a second job if necessary. Your children deserve your support.

That decision would be entirely up to a Family Court judge.
