I think the two types of sites, coupons and comparison shopping, are very different depending on what you are looking to buy.
If you know kinda what you want to buy, or the store you want to shop at, it makes a lot of sense to use a coupon site and see if you can add some extra savings at the end.
If you are browsing to figure out what to buy, i.e. I want to buy a digital camera, but I’m not sure which one, comparison shopping is the place to go. Those sites will give you a lot of products to choose from, and you can see the prices from lots of different internet stores.
My favorites? I like couponmountain.com for a good general overview of all the top coupons from big internet stores. I also like to look at the forums on slickdeals.net. They have some great deals there, but you have to work a little harder to find them.
For comparison shopping, I like the layout of shopping.com, but I’m also finding good stuff on smarter.com. I really like their product videos where average folks like you and me show off our latest toys and tell people what’s good or bad about them.

I like Smarter.com. I was browsing for a Mother’s day gift – found the flowers I was looking for and displayed alongside the flowers was a $10 coupon. I loved how I didn’t even have to go to another website for a coupon.
Depending on what I’m looking for my other favorites are: Pricegrabber for electronics, and Shopzilla for Home stuff.
If I’m looking for a good deal or coupon, I like the Fat wallet forums, and the CouponMountain.com blog. Fat Wallet since updated by users always has the newest deals while CouponMountain.com updates regulary throughout the day – check out their ‘New Coupon’ section.

For coupons I like The Bargainist and CouponMountain. The Bargainist doesn’t have a wide range of coupons, but some really cool discounts each day. CouponMountain has more coupons and promo codes than any other coupon site I’ve found. So if you know where you are loooking to buy something (e.g. Dell Home, HP, American Eagle), then CouponMountain.com is your best bet.

Thanks!
This is great! I just went to CouponMountain.com for the first time saved $ 500 off my new Dell Laptop!

Arguably CouponMountain.com is the best coupon site out there. Been around for a ton of years, always has great deals on Dell and HP gear, pretty simple and intuitive layout.
Comparison Shopping is a whole other ball of wax. You have the oldy but goodies like Shopping.com, PriceGrabber, and Shopping.com, but there are some up and comers you should check out like Smarter.com and Become.com. Nobody has really done all that much innovative in the comparison shopping world, but I noticed Smarter.com launched video reviews for products which is pretty cool.

One of the problems I have found is that many of these sites have out-of-date coupons which can be very frustrating!
I have come across a site recently that seems to keep up-to-date across a wide range of discount coupons at http://www.best-discount-coupons.com
Hope that helps
Take care
